Luis Camacho Quintet - Jazz - 6-8pm
Luis Camacho was born in the Bronx, New York City, on April 12, 1975, to Carlos and Alma Camacho. At the Age of 9 he was introduced to the trumpet by his Uncle and family musician, Enrique Medina, who had been playing, and continues, in the New York Salsa and Latin Jazz community for the past 40+ years. Continuing with his lessons into junior high school, Luis was privileged to study under Mike Viñas, who at the time was Ruben Blades’ bass player. Mike Viñas’ encouragement resulted in music becoming a top priority for Luis. Around this same time and through the promptings of a family friend (Robert Pope, bass), Luis began studying trumpet at the Jazz Mobile workshops under Eddie Preston and Jimmy Owens.monday, february 6, 2012 8:00pm

Dangerflow - Hip-Hop 9-10
Dangerflow brings its hip-hop beat to the crowd with a cocktail of live drums, funky guitars, and jazzy horns. Led by both a conscious wordsmith and soulful vocalist, the danceable sound doesn't come without substance. The group makes sure to include an uplifting and inspiring message in nearly every song. Dangerflow has been perfecting its signature sound since 2007 and released it's debut album, "Win, Lose Or Die" in Fall 2011. Furthermore, the band has been using their music to affect social change. In 2009 they performed at the United States Conference on HIV/AIDS and have recently been collaborating with Miami’s urban youth agencies to inspire young artists and activists. Dangerflow’s accomplishments were formally recognized when they received the Miami New Times 2009 Best Caribbean Band award and the 2011 Readers Poll Best Band Award. Dangerflow has collaborated with the Miami Heat in providing music & video for Miami Heat TV in the 2009-10 and 2010-11 NBA seasons. In addition, Miami Heat fans have been able to see a video of Dangerflow at the American Airlines Arena during every home game of the 2009-10 and 2010-11 NBA seasons. Dangerflow was also voted ‘2011 Band of The Year’ by The305.com.
